On October 22, 2024, during the 13th edition of the "Green Industry Summit"—one of the most important events in the industrial sector—the Green Industry Diamond competition was summarized. During the gala in Krakow, awards were presented to companies and entrepreneurs who incorporate the achievement of sustainable development goals into their strategies. Companies that consider the highest environmental standards during their investments and the introduction of innovative products and solutions were honored.
Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland was the winner in the "Sustainable Factory of the Year" category.
The award was accepted on behalf of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland by Dr. Ewa Łabno-Falęcka and presented by Michał Brzozowski, CEO of Metroplan Polska, who, while justifying the jury's decision, stated:
"The 'Sustainable Factory of the Year' award goes to a modern facility that combines the highest standards of the manufacturing industry with the 'Industry 4.0' concept. Its launch has increased the company's production capacity in Eastern Europe, as well as the flexibility and efficiency of the global production network. The smart factory currently employs over 1,600 people, with a record-high share of women in the workforce. It has been designed as a CO2-neutral facility, powered by renewable energy from a nearby wind farm, with heat energy sourced from biomass and trace amounts of gas. The Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland factory in Jawor is the winner in this category."
