By adopting the Ambition 2039 strategy, Mercedes-Benz has committed to offering a fleet of new CO2-neutral cars in less than 20 years. That’s not all. This initiative also includes specific goals for the production plants of Mercedes-Benz AG. From 2022, they will operate in a CO2-neutral manner around the world.
– The factory in Jawor is a pioneer in this matter and has met Ambition 2039 guidelines from the beginning of its existence. We consistently implement the principle of “environmental friendliness, from production to finished product”. This also includes the organization of the workplace, which should be friendly, ecological, and promote well-being – says Andreas Schenkel, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland.
This is why Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland announced a competition for the development of a spatial and architectural concept for two squares at the main gates of the engine and battery factories in Jawor in Lower Silesia. The company invites architecture, landscape architecture, spatial planning, or related faculty students (3rd year under-graduate or 1st and 2nd year post-graduate) to participate.
– We are happy to be able to work in a completely new factory. A factory of the future. We find here potential not only for professional development, but as it turns out; it is also a place to implement ideas for the better organization of free spaces. The square next to the canteens is waiting for an interesting idea. We want it to be a friendly place where you can rest and rejuvenate during work – says Monika Bogucka from the Project Department.
Competition entries can be submitted by December 15th. The winners will receive financial prizes: PLN 2,000 for 1st place, PLN 1,000 for 2nd place, PLN 500 for 3rd place. A special award is also planned – an internship in the Project Department of Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Poland.
